Alber Elbaz starts with basics that he works this time in black and white through short skirts that overlap trousers, sleeveless jackets, suspended ribbons, frayed edges, blouses in big baggy sizes. Then flashes of color are displayed on the bows that dot the dresses, the ruffles on one shoulder, the vestal dresses draped on the body revealing a corset. The prints repeat the iconic images of the house, the ‘Arpège’ bottle, a necklace, a bag. Sparkles takes over the wardrobe with sequined dresses for a dazzling finale. Alber loves woman and proves to us once again his talent by demonstrating the ‘know-how’ of craftsmanship and true couture work. When asked about the collection, Alber stated “I started to think about this collection when I worked on an exhibition here in the European House of Photography and I saw all the house’s patterns. Through all these patterns that I saw, I loved discovering that fashion is not just a simple process, it’s a working one.” The collection is a great ode to femininity, rich in details! Lavin makes me fall in love with fashion all over again! Head over the the main site to see the video recap.
