10 Tips to Make Your Look Unique

Looking the same as everybody else isn’t ideal. I mean, who’d like to be a sheep? We were all born individual, so why shouldn’t we embrace that? One great way we can show off our individuality is through our personal style – the things we wear and how we wear them! Here are 10 amazing tips you can use to make your look unique:

Go for Vintage Fashion

Vintage fashion is one of my favorite ways to differentiate myself. You’ll never find somebody with the same outfit as you, ever! There are lots of vintage shops you can hunt through in person and online, and you’re bound to find something that you love!

Consider Your Personal Brand

Personal branding is a good way to create a unique look. Think of how you’d describe your style/yourself. Use 3 or 4 words. If any of the clothes in your wardrobe don’t match those descriptive words, then get rid or don’t buy it. For example, you might describe yourself as classy, chic, and polished. Or maybe you’re eccentric, fun, and adventurous.

Tell People More With Your Accessories

Accessories are a great way to change up an outfit and give it more depth. I love telling people more about myself with my accessories. I’ve spotted a few people wearing Wood Watches and I think they look so cool! Plus, they let people know you don’t like to fit in – you care more about the environment! Things like that are a great way to make your look unique.

Go Through Your Grandmother’s Clothes

Your grandmother might have some real hidden gems that you won’t find anywhere else! My grandmother has a fantastic collection of coats. Have a sneaky look in your grandmother’s wardrobe to see what you find.

Find Your Signature Colors

You don’t need to wear your signature colors all the time, but it’s a good idea to have a particular scheme that you like to stick to. What are your favorite colors and the colors that suit you best? Maybe incorporate an item in your favorite color in all of your outfits. There are lots of ways you can get creative with it.

Don’t Worry About What Others Think

When you worry about what others think, you let them dictate how you dress and act. The way you dress needs to make you happy, so don’t worry about what others think!

Make a Pin Board

A real pin board or one on Pinterest can keep you focused on the styles you like best. Look at it when you go shopping and see if you can find a running theme!

Analyze Your Current Wardrobe

Take a long look at your current wardrobe and get rid of anything that you deem a ‘mistake’. Note down why you didn’t like it/don’t wear it anymore and then learn from your mistakes.

Consider Your Body Type

This isn’t essential, but by considering your body type, you can flatter your figure and feel so much more confident!

Make Sure Your Clothes Fit Well

Your clothes should fit you well, especially any vintage finds. Get them tailored if you need to!

Now go and wow everybody with your unique style!
