After a remarkable presence at the Hyères festival in the South of France, Karl Lagerfeld flew over to Korea to present the 2015/16 Chanel Croisière collection. On Monday May 4th, 2015 in Seoul, South Korea, Karl put on the 2015/16 Chanel Cruise collection in a futuristic space designed by the architect Zaha Hadid. The designer revealed an Asian elegance, in an entirely contemporary collection, with vibrant colors, texturized materials, and light and floaty volumes. Geometric and ethereal patchworks as well as multicolored stripes are paired with floral and graphic embroideries. Inspired from the traditional Korean garment, the hanbok, Karl Lagerfeld designed jackets with large sleeves, rounded shoulders and flat, crossed over or scalloped collars, showing off a new allure. For the evening, the high waisted dresses are light and full of volume, and the bustiers reveal a new elegance, outlined by a large band of velvet or grosgrain ribbon. An avant-gardiste collection full of energy, applauded by an audience of international celebrities including Kristen Stewart, Tilda Swinton, Gaspard Ulliel, Gisele Bündchen, Isabelle Huppert as well as Korean actresses and singers.
