NYFW Day 5 Spring/Summer 2015

on

Day 5 for me was all about the use of interesting patterns and portions. While there were individual pieces from particular collections that I loved, there are 4 complete collections that really hit the mark for me. Each are different in their own way, but overall you can feel the sense of cohesiveness among them.

Carolina Herrera

This collection is breath taking. Her use of floral patterns in a unique and romantic way is brilliant.

The Row

Each season designers Mark Kate and Ashley find a way to re-interpret the easy, relaxed look. The idea of a fitted look seems foreign to them and I love it.

Rosie Assoulin

This is the designers 4th collection, and her play on volume and proportion really set her apart from the rest. Each look had the right balance of practical and whimsical, which is something quite hard to achieve.

Reem Acra

If there was a quote that designer Reem Acra could say about her Spring collection, it would be “Sparkle Like Everyone Is Watching” The pieces her collection were not just clothing, but accessories.
