Even though Summer is far from over, I already have my eye on what is trending for the Spring/Summer 2015 Season. What excites me about fashion over the past few seasons is that styles are not evolving as quickly as they used to. Instead, designers are giving us small but significant updates to looks we already love.
Staring with McQ Alexander McQueen (on the far left), Spring/Summer 2015 will continue to see an embrace of dark floral patterns. I love the contradiction of dark colors and patterns with a season that typically brings lighter, more airy colors. Next, pattern mixing will still be a part of the trend landscape. At the Gucci resort collection (Middle left), head designer Frida Giannini choose a more artistic approach to floral and mixed it with an embellished, striped sweater creating a beautiful dynamic. To give pattern mixing an update, she added a grommeted belt for another layer of contrast. Pushing style to the other end of the spectrum, all white with accents of brown will be the ultimate chic look for Spring/Summer 2015. Both looks shown above on the right, incorporate the range of how white and brown can be worn together. In the Michael Kors look, bermuda shorts paired with a oversized top and straw accessories have me longing for breezy summer nights. The Halston Heritage look pulls in the more elegant take on white and brown. A sleek jumpsuit with an open jacket and brown pumps are perfect for meetings and evening outings.
