Leopard spots, polka dots, zebra stripes, light florals and Aztec prints. Prints are bigger than ever this June/July and I couldn’t be happier. I know everything thinks that when you have really loud (sometimes borderline obnoxious) prints they have to be the star of the show but move aside paisley print– you have to share the spotlight with even more graphic prints, tie-dye and bold colours. Style Guide: Short & Sweet

    By Kandron

    This time of year, especially in Miami, Im trying to get away wearing as little clothes as possible and still look classy. Here are a couple styles that keep it both short and sweet:

    I love J.Crew period. But their short selection is especially on point. Beside always having cool prints and textures, they have a variety of lengths to chose from. I usually opt for the 3″, which while pretty short are tailored to be fitted but not tight to avoid that stanky look. In their “short” shorts, they also offer 4″ and 5″ inch for a little more coverage. I also love that J.Crew is always having a sale so I never have to pay full price. Their solid colors are on sale in all colors and sizes and they are an extra 25% off plus an additional 30% off you pay with your J.Crew card. Shown below: Desert Floral – $89.50; Textured Striped Short – $65;

    If you prefer a bermuda style short, they also have versatile 7″ and 9″ that you can roll up to about a 5″ for a cool fuss free look. (sidenote – doesn’t this model sort of give you Keri Hilson?)

    I have been lusting after these fun Joe’s Rolled Suspender shorts ($145) since the beginning of the season. They would be cute with printed flats and a fedora or just a tee and flip flops. I love them. I want them. I need them. I’ll stalk them.

    The flowy pant’s trend has also crossed over into cute shorts. Asos gives us tons of options, including print (Art Deco Floral Shorts – $42.43 ), Printed Shorts Suits (Blazer $67.88; Shorts 42.43), Petite ($20.36), and Plus Size Culottes ($20.36).

    Are shorts helping to keep you cool this summer?
