Journey to Spring Part 6: Designers That Inspire

Every designer has someone who they admire and who inspires them. For designer Tarsha Williams, her inspiration is mostly found in an era, but she admires Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. She states, “Jacobs and McQueen have the ability to actually sell designs that are daring and different. McQueen in my opinion was a genius and I would love for people to buy my clothing and dare to wear pieces that others may feel is different or “out of the box.”

I couldn’t agree more. I am a huge fan of Marc Jacobs for those very same reasons and McQueen was legendary and bold. In case you have forgotten, take a look at the last fashion show he designed, Fall 2010.

Then there is Marc Jacobs latest show Louis Vuitton Spring 2013. Models were coming down an escalator in pairs. Incredible!

Tarsha sums up her inspirations very well, “I admire all artists that are passionate about their craft. I feel that the struggle or hustle is the same when it comes to actors/actresses, musicians, designers, models etc. We are all trying to do what we love and of course live off of what we love.”

In my opinion, she has got what it takes to be a “think out of the box” designer like Jacobs and McQueen. Her Spring 2013 collection will show us her amazing creativity and we will be glad we got to know her in her early designer years!
